Medal Of Honor Review O.K, so this game is getting on a bit I know. And come November Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun will be out, so you wont have that much time until you buy the next one (which you will buy!) But although WW2 is a very boring subject to some most people (like me) I found that when I bought it for no apparent reason accept that is was £20, I found it quite fun to play. The first level, the D-Day landings, is actualy quite fun and I keep coming back to it to do it again. The game is faily easy, but sometimes it can be quite challenging which is a good thing or else it would be pips. There are some good (if old) guns around, and who better to use them on than the Germans! When I first came in close contact with a German I got out my Thompson machine gun and shot him right in the balls, then I found that I couldn,t take my finger of the trigger. I began to smile, then began to laugh insanly! Ha Ha Ha... Haaaa Ha Haaaaaa!!!! sorry. But the threal of killing a german in the war is really that good!!! I recommend you buy it. Then you can laugh insanly like me. Just remember that it is a game. |

Medal Of Honor Review II - Part 2 The missions are reminiscent of the those you may have seen on film. The omaha beach scene is cut straight from Saving Private Ryan, and the atmosphere has been captured perfectly. You will see fellow soldiers crouched sobbing behind the little cover available. Mortars explode all around you. It has to be experienced to be appreciated. Other missions remind me of films such as Where Eagles Dare, you will find yourself breaking into a prison to rescue an SAS officer, before sabotaging the bases primary defences. The weapons you will use in the game are quite authentic and realistic. Guns such as the famous tommy gun, the Garand and the sniper rifle, which is particularly satisfying to use. Also a selection of grenades and an RPG launcher. The graphics are very good in every respect. The environments are extremely well detailed and are a pleasure to behold. The characters are well detailed and move realistically. There is no slowdown whatsoever and I have a 700MHz P3. The sound is excellent. All the effects are very realistic and the voice acting is top notch. The music is very atmospheric and genuinely adds to the experience. You'll definitely want to turn your volume up while playing. I don't know of any other FPS that captures the atmosphere of war so well. The plot and game itself is well designed, and the whole thing plays out like a film. Although fairly linear, the game constantly throws up surprises and it never seems to get repetitive at all. The game features the usual multiplayer options should you wish to go head to head with some mates . A very good game indeed. |
